What sort of problems can I help with?

I offer occupational therapy to anyone over the age of 16 and have extensive experience of working with young adults, working-age people, and older adults. I always start by completing a comprehensive initial interview in order to find out about your strengths, difficulties, and needs. Together we will then agree on what to focus on and the goals for therapy.

I can work with a wide range of difficulties and the list below is just to give you an idea, it is not exhaustive:

  • Anxiety
  • Attention / focus
  • Coordination, balance and movement
  • Difficult behaviours, e.g. self harming, skin picking, hair pulling (Trichotillomania)
  • Eating
  • Emotional regulation (meltdowns)
  • Handwriting
  • Hearing voices
  • Independent living skills – cooking, cleaning, managing bills, budgeting, booking appointments, looking after your home, going out, shopping, travelling, etc
  • Looking after your health – managing medication, communicating with health services, developing better self-care, personal hygiene issues, etc.
  • Motivation
  • Organisation / Planning / Routines / Time management
